Our Lumsden Grinder has a max capacity of 1340mm overall plate size, plates
can be ground to achieve an overall thickness, or simply to ‘clean up’ –
giving a machined finish. We will
happily grind Free Issue parts – whether they are plates, castings or
fabricated parts |
cNC profiling & lumsden grinding
In 2003 we identified an opportunity to move into CNC profiling of Mild Steel plate and Lumsden Surface Grinding.
CNC Profiling of 15mm thick Plate
Using our multi head Oxy-Propane machine we can cut parts up to 4000 x 1500mm. We stock S275 grade plate in a full range of thicknesses up to 100mm thk, as well as some S355 and EN8. We use CADLink software to communicate with the machine, enabling us to make the best use of material by nesting parts within the plate. We are able to profile from drawings and sketches, sample parts and templates, as well as having the facility to take dxf files. Our system allows to not only provide competitive prices on volume work, but also to offer a fast turnaround on 1 off and low quantity orders, with customers often able to collect parts same or next day when needed.
